The broad leaf blades. wider than most sedges. provide a more substantial textural presence in the ground layer. Use it where you need something between the fineness of Oak Sedge and the boldness of Seersucker Sedge. It's adaptable enough for shaded rain garden margins, moist woodland beds, and the edges of shaded borders, rewarding consistent moisture with reliable, lush growth. Semi-evergreen in the Mid-Atlantic, it provides continuous year-round ground cover in mild winters. Cut back in early spring to refresh the foliage and encourage clean new growth through the season.
