While 'Southern Gentleman' pollinates the full-size female cultivars, 'Jim Dandy' is the right match when you're working with compact plantings or smaller garden spaces. One Jim Dandy can service multiple smaller females within range. It grows three to five feet tall with clean, dark green foliage and the same white summer flowers that all winterberries produce to feed native bees. It thrives in the same wet, clay, acidic conditions as all Ilex verticillata selections.
