About this package
This garden package would look exceptional as a foundation planting, alongside a patio or walkway, or against a fence. If you are new to natives and would like to begin with a small garden or are working with a very limited space, this tiny but mighty garden will completely transform your yard.
What blooms when
The flowering season begins with butterfly weed smothered in bright orange blooms. Coreopsis 'Zagreb flowers simultaneously and both species bloom into mid-June. In July, the 2024 perennial of the year Phlox ‘Jeana’ and summersweet ‘16 candles’ create a jawdropping back of the border display with extremely showy pink and white flowerheads. The nectar rich flowers of hoary mountain mint attract hordes of pollinators in late-July through August. Purple spiked flowers of dwarf blazing stars accentuate the front border beginning in August and continuing through September. Fall is an end of season colorshow with flat topped rigid goldenrod and sky blue short’s aster providing late season nectar sources.
Site & placement
The Short On Space Package will thrive in any location with full sun and well drained soils. If you would prefer a more rectilinear design, we are happy to help you augment the halfmoon design provided to make this small garden fit in any space you like.
